Hanoi, August 17 – 19, 2005, the Vietnam – Sweden Health Co-operation Programme convened a workshop on “Development of product follow-up plans and product unit costsâ€, aiming to fine-tune its product evaluation indicators, develop relevant instruments and viable plans for data collection among its nine Components as well as to build capacity on devising and utilising data collecting tools for all the programme officers.

Accident & Injury Prevention

Originating from the idea of finding ways to reduce accidents and injuries in Vietnam, the “Injury Prevention Network - IPN†has been established since 2004. At present, IPN has 30 voluntary members. Although from different agencies like General Department of Preventive Medicine – MOH, Ha Noi Health Department, Vietnam – Germany Hospital, Ha Noi Medical University, Ha Noi School of Public Health and international organizations (UNICEF, WHO, Atlantic Philanthropies, Counterpart Intel, Plan), they share the same will. That is making contribution to accidents and injuries prevention in Vietnam.

Rational & Safe use of Drugs
|

August 22 – 24, 2005, in Ha Tinh town, the Rational and Safe Use of Drugs Component (DMC2) delivered a training course to doctors and pharmacists from Thach Ha district, Ha Tinh province on rational use of anti-biotics. The event is one of the regular activities of DMC2, Therapy Department, aiming at strengthening rational use of drugs, with the focus on anti-biotics use for sub-national health workers.

Community based health development

On 22-23 August 2005, Dr. Gordon Tamm, Chief Technical Advisor of the Vietnam-Sweden Health Cooperation visited Bac Tra My District,
Quang
Nam
Province to guide health workers and local government staffs at levels about the procedures and skills to monitor the results of implementing the Community-based Health System Development in Disadvantaged Areas (CBHD) in Tra Duong Commune. After the instruction session, local staffs paid a visit to Tra Duong for interviewing households on the outputs and results of project support in the areas.
